Eleventh Hole
Par 5
|
565 Yards
The par 5 eleventh hole is the longest of the five par 5s at the Ticonderoga Golf Course, measuring 565 yards from the back tees. The back two tee boxes sit on the east side of the trout brook, requiring the player to drive over the brook and brush, and to the uphill fairway.
After a solid tee shot, the golfer must choose a proper layup distance to avoid the creek bed that bisects the 11thfairway at a distance of 145 yards from the green. The golfer can lay up short of the creek and attempt a long third shot, or make the aggressive play and cross the creek. The golfer will want to avoid the fairway bunker that sits about 100 yards from the center of the green, as well as the upper section of the creek that runs down the right side of the green and approach before splitting the fairway.
A proper approach shot can set the player up for a birdie opportunity. Avoid the front right bunker and make sure you play to the correct side of this spacious green.
