About
TGC Golf Club
The Ticonderoga golf course, or TGC Golf Club as its known to the regular golfers, is perfect for players of all skill levels. It is an open and fun course to play. The course also presents a fun challenge with the meandering Trout Brook that comes into play on seven of the eighteen holes. During the round players enjoy scenic mountains that rise above the course on both sides.
Our
Course Renovations
In 2014, we asked the USGA for an analysis of our greens and course. Based on the analysis, the grounds committee met for six months to develop course priorities and timetable. A Master Plan was developed with a goal of minimal cost to the TGC Golf Club. The board remained steadfast that the priority was to get the greens out of the brook flood zone.
Phase One
Paul Brauner and family (a shareholder who loves the golf course) offered to fully support financially the Phase 1 improvements, subject to Board of Directors approval, and appropriate local and state governmental reviews. This was a no-strings-attached gift. Phase 1 included the temporary tees and greens, getting greens #10 and #16 out of the flood zone, starting the new #13th hole in the woods and new tees for the #15th hole, a new #17th hole and new tees for the 18th hole.
Phase Two
Our Unlimited Golf Play Permit holders were survey made it very clear that the biggest issues and concerns are level tee boxes, better greens and better fairways. Phase 2 will allow us to complete the back nine.
Phase Three
Phase 3 includes the raising of the #4th green out of the flood zone and raising #7th fairway approach to the green and a new green. This final Phase 3 will be funded through our ongoing fund raising events, tournaments and our new Capital Campaign. The Ingrey family has offered to match up to $200,000 towards our goal of $400,000 for Holes 4 and 7. Depending on funding there are other front nine improvements possible above and beyond the #4 and #7 work.
The
TGC Golf Clubhouse
In 2019, we signed a contract with Bonacio Construction Company of Saratoga to begin construction of our new TGC Golf Club Clubhouse, to include a new restaurant, pro shop, and locker rooms.
The importance of rebuilding the clubhouse extends well beyond its use as a recreational outlet for our residents. It affects your taxes, jobs, and puts more than $2.5M into our local economy every year.
Construction will take place through the Winter 2019 and Spring 2020. Barring unforeseen developments, we can expect a grand opening by July 1.
